Woodpeckers 24 Edge Rule, Laser Engraved, Aluminum Woodworking Ruler

Woodpeckers was established in 1988, with a focus that has always been on woodworking tools. Starting from a small collection of routers, the company has grown into a full-fledged manufacturer of router lifts, router fences, measuring and layout tools, and many useful clamping accessories. The Woodpeckers Woodworkers Edge Rule is designed to simplify the life of woodworkers by providing a more convenient and accurate way to measure stock edges and faces. Typical rules can be awkward to use, as it can be challenging to keep them parallel to the stock and make tic marks. The Edge Rule, however, wraps around the edge of the stock, allowing for easy and accurate measurements on both sides.

The Edge Rule features a short side that is 3/8" wide, providing ample room to mark stock as thin as 7/16", and a long side that reaches 3/4" across the face of the piece. Whether working on the edge or the face, the corner of the Edge Rule keeps the user properly aligned.

The Edge Rule offers several tricks to make woodworking tasks easier. It can be used to measure from inside corners, allowing for accurate measurements referenced from intersecting cross-members. The optional Edge Rule Stop can be used to accurately and easily repeat a desired dimension across multiple pieces, saving time and effort. The Edge Rule can also be used to find the center of nominal stock, whether it's a hair over or under 3/4" or 1-1/2".

Even when not working at the edge of the stock, the Edge Rule remains a handy tool. Its profiled shape makes it easier to move around on the stock compared to a thin, flat rule, and the beveled edges put the scale right next to the work, simplifying marking and minimizing parallax error. The slightly acute 89° angle inside the Edge Rule ensures that slight deviations in the workpiece edge won't throw off the measurement.

Woodpeckers Edge Rules are available in a range of sizes, from 6" to 36", as well as their metric equivalents. Each size is available individually or as a set, which includes 4 Edge Rule Stops and the Edge Rule Rack-It for convenient storage.

Like all Woodpeckers products, the Woodworkers Edge Rule is proudly machined and carefully inspected in the company's Strongsville, OH facility, just south of Cleveland. The rule features a laser-engraved 1/32" graduated scale with an accuracy of ± .004" total accumulated error.
