Woodpeckers, a brand established in 1988, has always been focused on woodworking tools. Starting with just a few routers, the company has grown into a full-fledged manufacturer of router lifts, router fences, measuring and layout tools, as well as a variety of useful clamping accessories. Woodpeckers takes pride in the fact that all of their tools are made in the USA, with the company handling its own machining, engraving, assembly, and packing processes.
Woodpeckers Woodworking Rules are designed to be straighter, heavier, and sit flatter, making them easier to handle than any other rules on the market. With an engraving tolerance of ±.004" total accumulated error, these rules are considered the finest available for a workshop.
The Woodworking Rules are machined from aircraft-grade aluminum and anodized for surface protection. The edges are beveled 30° to reduce parallax error, and the bright white laser-engraved scales provide excellent contrast against the red anodized surface. Finger grooves are machined into the middle of the body to assist in positioning the rule, and the backside features a relieved section in the middle to keep the edges lying perfectly flat on the work surface.
Woodpeckers Woodworking Rules come in a variety of layouts to meet different needs. The most popular version features a left-to-right reading scale on one side and a centering scale on the other, which is particularly useful for locating the center of a board and laying out equal spacing from that point. Another layout reads left-to-right on one side and right-to-left on the other, making it perfect for measuring from a table saw rip fence to the blade. For those who work in both inch and metric measurements, Woodpeckers offers a 49.5" model with a left-to-right inch scale on one side and a left-to-right metric scale on the other.
The ends of the rules (except the 6" model) have a pair of precision-machined threaded holes, allowing users to mount three clever accessories: a Hook Stop, a Protractor Head, and a Rule Stop. The Hook Stop provides a compact physical reference for the end of the rule, while the Protractor Head turns the rule into an instant T-square and woodworking protractor. The Rule Stop clamps to the rule anywhere, making repetitive marking quick and easy.
Woodpeckers Woodworking Rules are available in inch sizes of 6", 12", 24", 36", and 49-1/2", as well as metric sizes of 300mm, 600mm, 900mm, and 1200mm. Like all Woodpeckers tools, the Woodworking Rules are made in the USA.
