Woodpeckers Edge Rule, 12 Inch, Aluminum Woodworking Ruler

Woodpeckers was established in 1988, and the company's focus has always been on woodworking tools. Starting with a few routers, they have grown into a full-fledged manufacturer of router lifts, router fences, measuring and layout tools, and many useful clamping accessories. The Woodpeckers Woodworkers Edge Rule simplifies the process of measuring the narrow edge of stock. Typical rules can be awkward to use, as it can be difficult to keep the rule parallel to the stock and leave room to make a mark. The Edge Rule, however, wraps around the edge of the stock, providing an accurate scale on both sides. The short side is just 3/8" wide, allowing for measurements on stock as thin as 7/16", while the long side reaches 3/4" across the face of the piece.

The Edge Rule has several features that make it a valuable tool for woodworkers. It can be used to measure from inside corners, making it easy to reference measurements from intersecting cross-members. The optional Edge Rule Stops allow for accurate and repeatable markings on both the face and edge of the stock. The Edge Rule can also be used to find the center of nominal stock, whether it's 3/4" or 1-1/2" material.

The Edge Rule's profiled shape and beveled edges make it easy to use not just on the edges of the stock, but also in the middle of the work surface. The slightly acute 89° angle inside the rule ensures that slight deviations in the workpiece edge won't throw off the measurement. The laser-engraved 1/32" graduated scale is accurate to within ±.004" over the entire length of the rule.

The Edge Rule is available in 6", 12", 24", and 36" lengths, as well as the metric equivalents of 150mm, 300mm, 600mm, and 900mm. Woodpeckers also offers a set that includes four Edge Rule Stops and an Edge Rule Rack-It, which allows you to conveniently store your Edge Rules right where you need them.

Like all Woodpeckers products, the Woodworkers Edge Rule is proudly machined and carefully inspected in the company's Strongsville, OH facility, just south of Cleveland.
