The Woodpeckers Fat Head Hook Rule features a positive physical reference that locates the zero point of the rule exactly at the edge of the user's stock. It is the only hook rule on the market where the rule lies flat, eliminating the need to hold the rule upright. This design ensures that users can confidently position hardware a specific distance from an end or edge without the hassle of aligning the end of the rule to the edge of the stock. Even if the stock has a round-over on the edge, the Fat Head stop keeps the user perfectly calibrated with the primary edge.

The stainless-steel blade of the Fat Head Hook Rule is carefully finished to a low-glare satin finish, and the graduations are laser engraved to a tolerance of ±.004" total accumulated error. At just 1/32" thick, the rule eliminates any potential for parallax error. The aluminum head, machined from a solid billet of aircraft-grade material, is 3" wide and 5/16" thick, providing a positive reference to the user's material. The joint between the rule and the stop is designed to position the stop exactly on the zero point of the rule.
